- 06/2021 - 05/2023: Chapter co-chair for Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security (WCAPS) NYC chapter.
- 03/2021 - 07/2023: Selected as co-director of the NYC New Leaders Council (NLC) chapter. In this role, I oversee and organize the function of seven committees ranging from Selections to Recruitment to Institute/Curriculum to ensure a seamless education in leadership for current and future NYC NLC Fellows.
- 06/2020 - 08/2020: Served as a reviewer for two New York Academy of Sciences programs: The Junior Academy, and 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures programs for the 2020-2021 recruitment cycle.

- 06/2020 - present: As a NYC New Leaders Council (NLC) alumni, I serve on the following committees:
- Institute / Curriculum Committee: I organize and gather resources, content, and speakers for Fellows for the six months of their fellowship. Given the recent virtual nature of NLC Institute, we have been able to be exceedingly creative in our approach to find speakers and panelists.
- Selections committee: Along with other Selections committee members, assess each applicant's with an eye towards admitting them into the fellowship.
- Communication Committee: I help inform NLC alumni and fellows about accomplishments of NLC community as well as progressive issues relevant to NYC.
- NLC NYC Racial Equity Statement Task Force: As part of this task force, we seek to embed undoing anti-Black racism into the core of our programming and chapter operations. We hone in on anti-Black racism because we believe it undergirds the critical forms of oppression, injustice, and inequality that we seek to dismantle.
- 11/2019: Speed mentoring 25 middle-school students at PS46M as part of NY Edge.

- 01/2019 - present: Volunteer coordinator Brain Awareness Week.
- 2017: New York Academy of Sciences Bicentennial Ambassador - in this role, I helped raise awareness about the importance of STEM education, mentoring, and investment.
- 12/2013 - 12/2014: Newsletter writer and editor for Academy of Medical and Public Health Services (AMPHS). In this role, I collated and organized news items that would be of interest to partners of AMPHS. I was also responsible for distributing the newsletters to our partners.

- 05/2004 - 07/2005: As an administrator at the Animal Help Foundation in Gujarat, India, I organized fundraising events to increase public awareness about animal cruelty.
- I organized a program called Dr. Dog where dogs were taken to the Blind Peoples' Association and schools for children with autism Spectrum Disorders.
- I was in charge of keeping records for government officials; in addition, I kept records of all the animals at the shelter, approached food and pharmaceutical companies to donate food drugs for our animals for free or at reduced prices.
- At the Story Collider, I talked more about my experiences about animal experimentation in light of my work at the shelter.
- 01/2020 - 08/2024: Website Coordinator, Statistics without Borders (SWB)
I provide strategic guidance to the Marketing/Communication department on the most effective ways to showcase information on the SWB website. SWB is a volunteer outreach group of the American Statistical Association (ASA) that provides pro bono services in statistics and data science. We work to improve decision-making and knowledge in efforts that promote welfare through the proper application of statistical principles and best practices, where access to such resources is limited. - 10/2019 - present: Peer editor, Office Hours, NPR Scicommers, Joe's Big Idea.
- 12/2018 - present: Mentor to peers as part of The Social Scientist.
- 05/2018 - present: Mentor to a scholars as part of The Institute of International Education’s Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF)
- 01/2014 - present: Given the need of articles communicating basic epilepsy research to the public, I developed the Basic Science of Epilepsy page for www.epilepsy.com. More details about the articles I have written can be found here. I meet with other members of the editorial board at regular intervals to review website usage analytics with a view to increasing readership, and best practices to get engagement from readers.
- 11/2015- present: Member of the ILAE/AES Translational Research Task Force. Discoveries made in animal studies often fail to translate into clinically relevant therapies; hence, the ILAE/AES Translational Research Task Force is working to optimize epilepsy research and lead to new treatments for people with epilepsies. As part of an initiative to systematically review the animal data for their relevance to particular clinical syndromes and comorbidities and critically evaluate their predictive value for treatment response or biomarker development, I co-authored this paper for the peer-reviewed journal Epilepsia.
- 12/2013 - 12/2015: Invited member of the Scientific Program Committee at American Epilepsy Society. Responsibilities included reviewing and scoring abstracts for the Annual Meeting, and choosing a topic for the scientific plenary session.
