SCIENCE ADVOCACY
Why advocate?
All science is funded by taxpayer money. It is for this reason that scientists have a moral obligation to inform people of their findings. Since scientists need not just funding, but consistent funding, we must advocate effectively to elected representatives.
Why audit?
Preclinical and basic science bring with it tremendous opportunities to help individuals with illnesses. Unfortunately, there is little transparency and accountability in science; making preclinical work more transparent and scientists accountable will only increase public faith in science and scientists, hence advocating for increased funding. To create an atmosphere that supports scientific rigor.
